MARINE CORPS TRAINING AREA BELLOWS, Hawaii - Lance Cpl. Levi Johnson, an intelligence specialist with Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, and a 20-year-old native of Springdale, Ark., launches the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Raven drone to provide overwatch of friendly and enemy forces in the area at Marine Corps Training Area Bellows, July 12, 2014. The UAS is a lightweight drone that can fly at a range of five-to-ten kilometers and stay in the air for up 90 minutes. The UAS is part of the Marine Corps Advanced Warfighting Experiment, a culmination of progressive experiments designed to test potential future technologies, solutions and concepts to future Marine Air Ground Task Force challenges being led by the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL).
