SgtMaj Brandon D. Link

Sergeant Major Link is a native of San Diego, California and enlisted in the Marine Corps on September 5, 2000.  He completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California in December of 2000 and attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California.  Upon completion of Marine Combat Training, Sergeant Major Link reported to Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas for the Louis F. Garland Firefighting Academy where he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.  After completing the firefighting academy in May 2001, he reported to the Marine Corps Air Facility, Marine Corps Base Hawaii where he was subsequently promoted to Corporal meritoriously in March 2002. In March 2003, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  He was also selected as the United States Marine Corps Military Firefighter of the Year.
 
In December 2003, Sergeant Major Link was transferred to the Marine Corps Base Hawaii Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academy Corporals Course where he served as a course Instructor, Advisor, and Academics Chief. In June 2004, Sergeant Major Link was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 171 at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan where he participated in the 2005 Eagle Warrior exercise in Camp Fuji, Japan.
 
In July 2006, Sergeant Major Link was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 272 at Marine Corps Air Station New River where he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.  During his tour he deployed to Camp Korean Village, Iraq in 2007 in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. 
 
In April 2009, Sergeant Major Link attended Recruiters School in San Diego, California and upon graduation he was assigned as a Canvassing Recruiter at Recruiting Sub Station Fremont, Recruiting Station San Francisco.  In January 2011 he was transferred to Recruiting Sub Station San Mateo to serve as the SNCOIC and subsequently promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
 
In June 2012, Sergeant Major Link was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point where he deployed with Marine Aircraft Group 40 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM to Kuwait and Bahrain.  In March 2014, he deployed to Tactical Base Dwyer, Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.  At the conclusion of his tour with Marine Wing Support Squadron 274 he was selected as the 2014 United States Marine Corps and Department of Defense Military Fire Officer of the Year.
 
In January 2015, Sergeant Major Link was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and transferred to 2D Marine Raider Support Battalion where he served as the Logistics Company and Headquarters Company First Sergeant.  In July of 2015, Sergeant Major Link was assigned to the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force  - Iraq where he deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.  In June of 2017, Sergeant Major Link was assigned to 6th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant.
 
In August of 2019, Sergeant Major Link was promoted to his current rank and assigned to Recruiting Station Oklahoma City.  In May of 2022, Sergeant Major Link was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 24.  In April of 2023, Sergeant Major Link assumed his current position as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of Marine Raider Support Group.
 
Sergeant Major Link's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star in lieu of second award, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars in lieu of fourth award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award.
 
Sergeant Major Link holds an Associates of Science in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University and is a graduate of the Joint Special Operations University Summit Program, the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy, the United States Army Sergeant Major Academy, and the United States Marine Corps Senior Enlisted Professional Military Education Program.
