Dr. Twayne Hickman is a seasoned Marine Corps leader with over two decades of service. Commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 1997, he deployed twice to Ramadi, Iraq, during operation Iraqi Freedom, commanding a company and serving as the Operations Officer with 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines.
Twayne has shaped the next generation of Marine Corps leaders as an instructor and curriculum developer at Marine Corps University, teaching advanced planning and strategy to senior leaders. He also served as Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, G-5
Future Plans at III MEF in Okinawa, Japan.
Most recently, he served as the Director of Operations for the Warfighting Lab, leading efforts to identify and develop future warfighting concepts and capabilities.
Twayne now serves as the Chief of Staff at MCWL, applying his operational experience and strategic foresight to complex challenges impacting the Marine Corps and the Joint Force.
He holds a Master of Science in Organization Development and Knowledge Management and a PhD from the Carter School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution. He currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife.
